Research On The Optimization Of Physical Space Services In University Libraries Based On Readers' Needs

The concept of physical space service in university library is people-oriented,and readers' demand is the motive force to promote the development of physical space function of library.Under the normalization mechanism,readers participate in space service and interact with the library,which makes the library space develop in change.Based on this,this paper investigates the needs of teachers,students and readers of colleges and universities for library physical space services,and takes Shanghai university libraries as an example to study the optimization of physical space services of university libraries.On the basis of investigation,this paper puts forward the problems existing in the physical space service of university library and the corresponding optimization countermeasures,hoping to benefit the layout and service of the physical space of university library in the future.This paper is divided into six chapters.The introduction chapter discusses the background of topic selection,the summary of research status at home and abroad,the research content and significance,and the research methods and innovations adopted in this paper.The conclusion chapter summarizes the full text and points out the shortcomings of the research.Other chapters are the main body of this paper.Firstly,the physical space service of university library is summarized,and the meaning,types,characteristics and significance of physical space service of university library are discussed.Secondly,it investigates readers' demand for physical space services in university libraries.Questionnaires are distributed by using Questionnaires platform,and the survey contents include physical space service facilities and equipment requirements,physical space service content requirements,physical space service form requirements and other physical space service requirements.Then,taking Shanghai university libraries as an example,this paper analyzes the current situation of physical space service,mainly from four indicators: physical space service development,physical space service facilities and equipment,physical space service content and physical space service form,and puts forward the existing problems of physical space service,including the overall convergence and lack of innovation of physical space service in university libraries;The facilities and equipment in the space ignore the needs of readers,and the utilization rate is low;The content of space service is complex and not clearly explained;The spatial service form is single,the interaction between librarians and readers is weak,and the spatial service has not yet formed a perfect system.Finally,in view of the common problems existing in the physical space service of university libraries and the needs of readers,this paper puts forward corresponding optimization countermeasures,including attaching importance to personnel training and promoting library transformation;Reasonable layout of space and optimization of facilities and equipment;Clarify the service content and improve the space utilization rate;Service innovation,broadening space service forms and strengthening service effect evaluation,and improving service quality.
