Investigation And Analysis On The Current Situation Of Spatial Service Of University Libraries In Hebei Province

The rapid development of information technology in the 21 st century has brought the whole society into the modernization period.People's material and cultural needs are growing,and the basic space services of traditional libraries,such as book collection,borrowing and reading,can no longer meet people's needs.Therefore,library users have put forward new requirements for library space services.The modernization period requires the library space service to be open,diversified and interactive.The library plays an important role in university education,and the Library Regulations for General Higher Education Schools put forward that library space service should keep pace with the times and optimize its space service with the help of modern science and technology.In this context,the spatial services of university libraries need to carry out corresponding innovations and changes in response to the needs of library users,changes in information environment and the needs of sustainable development of libraries.Through combing the literature,it is found that the contents of library space services need to be increased in the modernization period,such as meeting the needs of users for communication and discussion,rest and relaxation,and self-study space.Therefore,in the construction of library space services,libraries should keep pace with the development of the times and technology,and provide more intimate and detailed services to readers with humanized,diversified and personalized services.In order to understand the development of physical space services in university libraries,this paper takes the libraries of 13 backbone universities in Hebe Province as the research objects.Firstly,the current situation of the types and development of library space services was investigated by using the website survey method;the demand of library space services from users was investigated by using the questionnaire survey method;the telephone interview method was used to investigate the problems encountered by library managers in the development of library space services.The survey was conducted to investigate the problems encountered by library managers in the implementation of library space services.The survey found that although some university libraries have innovated and transformed their space services and gained the recognition of teachers and students,there are still some shortcomings: library space services are not comprehensive;library space services cannot meet readers' needs;library space services lack publicity;librarians' knowledge structure is lacking;library space usage rules lack publicity;the concept of sustainable development of libraries These problems need to be strengthened.The corresponding optimization strategies are proposed for the problems in the process of library space service,such as: improving the efficiency of using space;providing library space service oriented by users' needs;strengthening the publicity of library space service;strengthening the training of librarians to deepen the service;formulating the rules of use and improving the management of space service;and doing the top-level design of space service.
