The field of image processing in our daily life is becoming more and more extensive.With the development of machine vision and deep learning in recent years,the technology of image processing with hardware processor is more and more mature.People's high quality requirement for digital image makes the computational load of image processing increase sharply,and the parallelism of FPGA is suitable for fast image processing.The system designed in this paper USES Xilinx's Spartan6 LX16 SERIES FPGA as the core chip of image acquisition and processing,and introduces the logic system design of the chip,including camera configuration module,data acquisition module,DDR3 SDRAM cache module,VGA controller module and various image algorithm modules.On this basis,the mean filtering and median filtering algorithms of the image filtering algorithm are deeply studied,and five commonly used edge image processing algorithms are verified and simulated.Due to the slow processing speed of the traditional median filtering algorithm,an improved median filtering algorithm is proposed in this paper,which greatly reduces the sorting times and reduces a lot of time.By comparing the characteristics of five edge detection algorithms,Sobel operator is selected as the edge detection algorithm for image processing.Each module can be simulated by Model Sim software to verify the results.After the system design is completed,the experimental platform is set up to carry out experimental test and data analysis on the system.The experimental results show that the improved median filter has better suppression effect on salt and pepper noise and Gaussian noise than the traditional median filter,and can meet the requirements of fast real-time filtering.Experimental results also show that Sobel algorithm is better than the other four operators.The system can meet the requirements of real-time video processing and can be well applied in practice.
