Spot centroid detection system is one of APT fine tracking servo system's key technologies. The spot detection system is currently based on PC, with the problems of high-speed real-time and stability. On the foundation of some detection algorithm, This article proposed image processing algorithm based on FPGA, has realized high-speed real-time detection for laser spot center.There are mainly 3×3 window module and auto-adapted threshold module used in the article. Firstly, we carry on processing to the CCD data-in, and judgment of spot scope. Then, we utilize the centroid algorithm to process the pixels which occupied on the spot, and obtain the spot position of miss distance. Finally, we use the VGA format display the image on the LCD.
