Research On Schedule Management Of Chip R&D Project

The IC(Integrated Circuit)industry is a technology-intensive and high-risk global competitive industry.Chip R&D(Research and Development)is the core of IC industry,it has the characteristic of rapid updating.The high-quality chips can only take advantage in the fierce market competition if they are putting into the market quickly by seizing the opportunity The purpose of researching on schedule management in chip R&D project is to reduce the project cost,improve work efficiency and ensure that the chip R&D completed on time,so as to improve the IC enterprises'competitiveness.This paper mainly adopts literature research method and case study method.By studying a large number of literature materials,it collects the knowledge of schedule management which suitable for R&D projects,and then takes G company as an example to study the research of schedule management in chip R&D project.Firstly,the paper analyzes the problems in chip R&D project of G company to find out the reasons of its delay and improper schedule.Secondly,the paper adopts the improved Three Duration Technique method to estimate the duration of each task,so that the whole project time arrangement is more reasonable.Thirdly,the CCM(Critical Chain Method)is used to compile of the chip R&D's project schedule,and the buffer in CCM is set and monitored to control the project schedule,in that the whole project will completed on time.Finally,by using G company's USB4 project as an example to demonstrate the concrete implementation and evaluate its effectiveness,the paper proves that the above schedule management preparation and control can effectively improve the delay problem of G company's chip R&D project and enhance its project schedule management.The research on schedule management of chip R&D project in this paper can enrich the theoretical knowledge of chip R&D management,provide reference for the practice of chip R&D schedule management,and improve the R&D management level in IC enterprises.
