Research On Discipline Services Of University Libraries In Guizhou Province

As readers' increasingly diverse requirements for information are no longer met by traditional library services in recent years,subject services in today's information and network era have obviously become a way of adapting to the development of the times and better satisfying the diversified needs of readers.Discipline service as a kind of personalized and knowledge-based document information service of university libraries required by the development of university libraries plays an irreplaceable role in the discipline construction,teaching and research of universities,and it is also a firm support to improve the service level and competition of libraries.The establishment of subject librarian system at Tsinghua University in 1998 initiated an upsurge in subject service related research.At present,most domestic university libraries have carried out subject services,and yielded preliminary achievements in this regard.However,a lot of problems have emerged in the current situation,such as a lack of subject librarians,outdated subject service model,low level of subject service content,and low subject user satisfaction.How to enhance the subject service level of university libraries and help to carry out university teaching and research work has a focus of concern of university libraries.Taking university libraries of Guizhou Province as the survey object,this paper analyzes the current status of the practice of university libraries in Guizhou Province from four aspects of subject librarian,subject service model,subject service content,and subject service user satisfaction.Taking Guizhou University of Finance and Economics as a typical case,this paper conducts detailed analysis,investigates the achievements and current problems existing in the university libraries of Guizhou Province,in hope of providing valuable experience and guidance for the construction of subject services for the university libraries in Guizhou Province according to its unique actual situation.
