Research On The Service Of Elderly Readers In Shanxi Library Based On Questionnaire Survey

At present, China has entered the aging society, and in about 2050, the aging stage will reach a peak, the sharp increase in the aging population will have dramatic effects on various aspects of China. In this context, how to guarantee the elderly good lives in their later years is the puzzle which all sectors of society are studying and solving. Reading is one of the selected candidates to enrich older people after they retirement, which can not only promote the quality of the elderly, but also is conducive to the construction of nationwide reading. Public Library as a nonprofit educational institution, has a responsibility to promote reading, ensure intellectual freedom, and promoting the elderly to read themselves is one of its own missions.Since 2003, the rate of increase of the elderly population in Shanxi Province is much higher than the national growth rate over the same period, and the degree of aging is increasing. But the economic level is relatively backward in Shanxi, the per capita income is relatively low, in the "old before getting rich" situation, how to improve the living standards of the elderly after retirement in the case of the missing material aspects, which need to meet from the spiritual aspects.In this article, taking the library of Shanxi Province as a case, the author make a field investigation to understand the reading characteristics and influence factors of the elderly in Shanxi Province as well as their attitude to reading service, in which the public library participate.Through questionnaire to find out service the advantages and shortcomings which existing in Shanxi Province library servicing older readers, and comparing to the various data during the same period nationwide and the data of Shanxi Province to identify deficiencies in order to improve it. This article is divided into four parts altogether:The first part expounds the research background, purpose, significance, focusing on the current situation in the context of aging research scholars and compared with it, and then write the research methods as well as innovation and difficult.The second part of the library service in Shanxi older readers questionnaires were analyzed, and the existing problems were also analyzed.The third part is to study the constraints of Shanxi Library elderly reader service and analysis mainly from four factors.The fourth part is the specific measures to solve the problem. Learn from foreign developed country public library for the specific strategies and the successful experience of the service for aged readers, combined with China’s national conditions, and put forward feasible suggestions.
