In special fields such as aviation, aerospace, and military,RCS testing of radar targets occupies a very important position that provides a powerful means for the design, production, and application of weapons and equipment. The antenna system plays a pivotal role in RCS test engineering, which has a very close relationship between its performance and the target RCS.The antenna system requires idealized characteristics to ensure accurate and timely RCS test results.Moreover,anti-stealth detection also requires RCS testing as a strong evidence. The research in this thesis is described as follows:(1)Based on a brief analysis of antenna principles and target RCS theory, four horn antennas for near-field RCS testing are designed.According to the RCS test requirements of different frequency bands, three horn antennas working at 1?2GHz,2?4GHz,4?8GHz and a double ridge horn antenna working at 8?18GHz were designed.(2)The simulation software HFSS is used to simulate and analyze the designed antenna. The simulation results show that the return loss, gain and directional map of the test object in 1?2 GHz,2?4 GHz and 4?8 GHz all meet the requirements. The maximum gain of the double-ridged horn antenna working at 8?18GHz can reach 16dBi,and the front-to-rear ratio is good, which meets the requirements of RCS test for antenna gain and directivity.(3)Based on the simulation, the actual horn antenna is processed and built. In this step,a calibration sphere RCS test system based on the horn antenna was built in the microwave anechoic chamber.Although there are some fluctuations in the results, the fluctuations are generally within ±0.5dB.The RCS test results show that all four horn antennas are able to work properly and obtain accurate target RCS.
