The ultra-wideband(UWB)technology has a wide range of applications in radar, communication, electronic confrontation and other fields. The high-gain and UWB antenna has an important research significance. As the forefront of the UWB system, the UWB horn antenna is an important component, and widely used in the electromagnetic compatibility(EMC)test system, the feed system of reflector antenna, the UWB radar and other fields. At the same time, the UWB horn antenna still has many problems to be solved, including the designing of antenna structure, the broadening band, the return loss and so on.The double ridged horn antenna(DRHA)with its advantages such as small size, wide band is widely studied and applied. As the forefront of the UWB communication system, the DRHA is required to be higher, which should be high-gain and ultra-wideband.Based on the theory of the DRHA,this paper designs a corrugated DRHA with a multilayered lens.More specifically,a optimized corrugated surfaces are introduced into the DRHA to eliminate the radiation pattern deterioration in the high frequency range by suppressing the unwanted surface currents.A planar three-layered lens is then added in front of the DRHA to flatten the spherical wave without hurting the broadband performance, and is improved the gain in the 1-18 GHz ultra-wide band. This paper mainly studies the UWB technology and the high gain technology of double-ridge horn antenna. The main research contents are as follows:1.Based on the basic theory and analysis method of the horn antenna, the gain,VSWR and pattern of the original double-ridge horn antenna are simulated and analyzed by CST simulation software.2.We present a DRHA with a optimized corrugated surfaces, which eliminate the radiation pattern deterioration in the 12-18 GHz frequency range and ensures the stability of the antenna' pattern in 1-18 GHz broadband.3.We proposed a double-ridge corrugated horn antenna with a planar three-layered lens. Two lenses for matching and the middle lens, achieving a matching with free space, and the VSWR is less than 2 in the full range, while significantly increasing the gain of the whole band.
