With the acceleration of economic development and urbanization,the siphon effect between big cities has become increasingly prominent,and the competition among cities has become more intense.City image is an important factor and component of the city's comprehensive competitiveness.A good city image is the intangible asset of a city's external communication.In the past academic circles,the research perspective of urban communication and the building of city image was mostly focused on the virtual space created by mass media.Influenced by the trend of "spatial turn",communication studies also focus on urban communication in urban physical space,put forward the concept of "spatial media",and think about "spatial" communication and construction of city image.As the physical space of urban traffic,the subway itself is also a medium.While carrying the function of "transportation vehicle",it also plays the function of inheriting urban culture,displaying urban civilization,promoting the further development of the city,and then constructing the image of the city.In this paper,by means of urban transmission media,space,CIS theory,along with the subway public space and lead to the change of urban spatial pattern as the research object,through field survey and depth interview method,to study the subway of Zhengzhou city image,and in the process of shaping present problems and put forward the corresponding Suggestions.With the help of urban communication,spatial media and CIS theory,this paper takes the public space of Zhengzhou subway as the research object,and through field investigation and in-depth interview,understands how the subway shows and shapes the urban image of Zhengzhou.The research shows that the metro enterprise concept and the city concept are consistent,and the metro reflects and constructs the city cultural image,the city economic image,the city innovation image and the city livable image from the "concept" level.The metro conveys city information through various means,such as its own organizational communication behavior,mass media behavior and metro "communication space" behavior,and creates and communicates the city image of Zhengzhou from the "behavior" level.With the help of basic elements and application elements such as subway logo,subway mascot,subway station name,subway environment decoration,propaganda slogan and employee clothing,Zhengzhou Metro vividly displays and shapes the city's cultural image,economic image and livable image at the "visual" level.There are also some shortcomings in the process of constructing the image of Zhengzhou,such as the public welfare activities held by the subway are mere formality,the lack of visual elements in the subway space,the monotonous content and subject matter of the subway media communication,and the management service to be improved.In order to better promote the subway to build the city image,the following suggestions are put forward: keep the unity of activities,deepen the subway marketing activities;Strengthen the visual impact,mining regional characteristics;Broaden the content of communication and perfect the system of communication;Improve management services and popularize civilized knowledge.
