| With the development of Internet,new digital technologies have brought pressure to traditional media,but also ushered in new opportunities for its transformation and upgrading.As a new trend in media development,media convergence has given birth to brand-new journalism production,dissemination,and distribution models such as "Convergence Journalism" and "Fusion report".Compared with traditional journalism,fusion reports have the characteristics of diversified communicators,user-oriented receivers,three-dimensional content,integrated media channels,and interactive mode.It is one of the inevitable results in the development of media convergence.Under the accelerating process of media convergence,the figure of the convergence journalism has gradually begun to appear in the selection of various news awards.As the highest award for outstanding journalism works in China,the China News Awards has selected 30-years outstanding journalism works since 1991.It is worth noting that the"Media Convergence Award" newly established by the organizing committee in 2018 and the number of this award will not exceed 50 pieces per session.Up to now,there have been 3-years winning reports of "Media Convergence Awards".These excellent works represent to the level of media convergence development of China and guide the practical direction of Chinese media.This paper comprehensively uses the relevant theories of journalism,communication,and narratology to study the winning reports of "Media Convergence Award" of the China News Awards.Through analyzing their characteristics,development status and future trends to form specific cognition and summarize their advantages,which can provide reference and suggestions for the development of media convergence in the future.First,this paper adopts an inductive method,combining with the general evaluation criteria of China News Awards and the selection criteria of "Media Convergence Award".Summing up the four essential elements of convergence journalism in the China News Awards is the proper political stance,the high newsworthy,the prominent integrated characteristics and the extensive social effects.All of this lays a theoretical foundation for the content analysis below.Secondly,the statistics of "Media Convergence Award" including 146 pieces convergence journalism from the 28th to 30th China News Awards,using the methods such as statistics analysis and case analysis to quantify the topic,technology,form of expression,and the nature of media to interpret the changing trends of "Media Convergence Award" in terms of number,topic,content,and technology.According to the research,it is found that the winning reports of "Media Convergence Award" in China News Award have the characteristics of macrocosm topic,holographic content,demotic narrative,and whole-picture transformation.In terms of topic,the winning reports focus on major political news,take positive perspective as leading and adopt the way of "show the big themes from small incision" to make the grand content more fictionalizing and lifelike.In terms of content,the forms of communication are diversified.There're multiple intelligent technologies such as AI,VR and 3D Max are integrated into the presentation of graphics,audio,and video.Among them,AI is used most frequently,and the new technologies empowering convergence journalism works become more vivid.In terms of narrative,the subject of journalism discourse is going down and ordinary people and netizens gradually become the protagonists of news.Through their plain and simple words,the vivid and vibrant Chinese stories are presented.In terms of transformation,the process of domestic media convergence has changed from the central level to the provincial level.The overall situation of convergence and upgrading of media organizations is going well.From the number and the quality of winning reports,the transformation of newspapers has made the most significant breakthroughs.Overall,the winning reports of "Media Convergence Award" possess many advantages and characteristics,but they also have shortcomings such as lack of news timeliness and depth in content.Finally,based on sorting out the comments of some judges and professional professors,comparing foreign convergence journalism works and combining with the Marxist News View,this paper thinks that the innovation of the winning reports of "Media Convergence Award" in China News Award have some problems in technical field,communication path,and interaction design.For example,the content and technology are not integrated and unified in creation process;short video news remain the characteristics of traditional TV news;news propaganda and social supervision are not coordinated,etc.This paper tries to put forward some enlightenment and suggestions on these problems,hoping to provide reference for the optimization of convergence journalism works of the China News Awards. |
