City image is an important part of the city's soft power.With the improvement of China's overall national strength and international influence,some important competitions are held in China.Many cities conveniently use large-scale competitions to shape the city's image and enhance its competitiveness.According to the mimic environment and framework theory,the image of a city depends largely on the presentation and shaping of the media.Coinciding with the 7th World Military Games held in Wuhan,this article aims to study the media's image of Wuhan through the military games.This article mainly applies two kinds of research methods: content analysis and text analysis.The report on the city of Wuhan in the newspaper,client,and WeChat public account of the Hubei Daily is used as the research sample.With manual screening,a total of 383 valid report samples from 100 days before the opening of the General Games to 10 days after the end of the Games were recorded.Based on the framework theory,combined with content analysis,text analysis,and other methods,this paper studies the high-level frame,middle-level frame,and low-level frame of the report,and analyzes how the "Hubei Daily" shapes Wuhan's city image from the reported topics,structure,and discourse.Through analysis,it was found that the “Hubei Daily” has shaped the image of the service-oriented and benefit-oriented Wuhan government through the report of the Military Games.The image of the civilized and friendly Wuhan citizen is clean,convenient,and ecologically harmonious.Wuhan cultural image.At the same time,this article conducted a questionnaire survey of 517 respondents to verify the effect of media in shaping the image of Wuhan through military games.The survey found that about 55% of respondents believe that reading the relevant reports can improve their image of Wuhan.The degree of recognition,and also found that respondents who have read relevant reports agree more with the image of Wuhan city created by the media than those who have not read relevant reports.After analyzing the data and frame analysis of the report samples,the study found that the media had issues such as uneven topic setting,too obvious tendencies,insufficient early and late reporting,and more shallow statements in the process of shaping the image of Wuhan.In response to these problems,the author builds a three-dimensional city image from multiple issues and discourses;reports in a balanced way to enhance the objectivity of the image;does a good job of planning and positioning to shape a unique city image;and proposes a solution in four aspects: integrated communication and the advantages of various media.With a view to providing practical and feasible countermeasures for the media to shape the city's image in major events.
