The Research Of The Olympic Games By People’s Daily In The New Century(2000-2012)

The International Olympic Games is the most famous major sports events. It is not only a sport match, but also a competition of media.21st century marked the arrival of the new media age. The traditional media is undergoing a severe test. In order to survive, they need continuous innovation. People’s Daily is one of the authoritative comprehensive daily newspaper in China. It effects the audience and other media. How to report every Olympic Games well in the new century is a question of worth exploring.The subject of my dissertation is about the Olympic Games report on People’s Daily from the year2000to2012. In this dissertation, I used the content analysis and logical analysis in order to explore the frame characteristics of the Olympic Games report in the new century by People’s Daily.The study shows that the number of Olympic Games report on People’s Daily is significantly increased; the theme framework of Olympic Games report is diversified, comprehensive and international; the Olympic Games report is focused on evaluation and analysis of events; the topic theme is care for the human care. In the last, this paper suggests that People’s Daily’s Olympic Games report continues to strengthen the Olympic spirit and the depth of the coverage. Least but not last, People’s Daily’s Olympic Games report needs to more close to readers.
