The emerging trend of idol-raising programs has received unprecedented social attention and discussion,meanwhile,the fan community has shown various new features in its own evolution process that remain to be further investigated.The purpose of this research is to explore the current status of the participatory fan culture,to reveal the aforementioned influence on the media culture production,and to discover the possibility and necessity of participatory culture development.Based on the participatory cultural theory proposed by Henry Jenkins,this research will discuss the core subject status of fan-generated content in the new media environment,investigate changes and implications of operation modes,and gain insight on the power plays in fan participatory cultural practices.The research has taken "Produce 101",the idol-raising program with the highest popularity and clout in 2018,and its fan community behind as the main research object.The conclusion recognizes that fan participatory culture is essentially a new production method of medium culture.The collective carnival of fan groups in of participatory culture will occur certain negative effects,nevertheless,they should still be acknowledged for their subjective initiative and productive capacity in producing participatory contents.The basic research mindset of this topic are as follows: the introduction chapter mainly discusses the proposal of the research,the current status of the study and the research significance of the topic.It comprehensively summarizes the current research status of Henry Jenkins' participatory culture theory,emphasizing the importance of fan culture research in the aforementioned theory,and ends with a brief overview of the research methodology;Chapter two summarizes the rules,content and characteristics of the research object "Produce 101" program,and discusses the process and preconditions of how the "raising" relationships between idols and fans are established in the context of active cultural production;Chapter three will systematically investigate and analysis on the formation process of fan community,community platform and identity recognition,exploring the mechanism establishment and participatory basis of the fan group to form a fan participatory culture.Chapter four is to study the enthusiasm and initiative of the fan group in participatory cultural production,analyzing fans' symbolic construction behavior,content poaching behavior and the vision of citizen participation.Chapter five is to explain the contemporary representation of Jenkins' s participatory cultural theory in the context of the current fan participatory phenomenon in China,which is also the innovation of this article.Under the new media environment,the culture development here in China presents a trend of competitive evolvement of multiculture.The participatory culture elaborated by Jenkins has important theoretical value for the current thriving of the integration of media.Fan groups strive to use the new media consumption and production environment to achieve win-win cooperation with mainstream media.On the one hand,they will bring more vitality to the content production and operation of new media.On the other hand,fan community are authorised to use these platforms to participate in culture production.Finally,the author articulates the value contribution of fan participatory culture and critically analyzed its limitations in the era of the new media in China.
