In the grand issue as “China-US trade friction”,the public usually has no other channels,such as personal experiences,to understand it.News reports,especially authoritative news reports,have become a reliable source of news to help the public get understand of the issue.This thesis takes the " China-US Trade Friction" reports from March 22 to December3 of the People's Daily as the research object,selects 308 sample,and uses the content analysis and discourse analysis methods combined with the high,middle and low levels framework structure theory of Zang Guoren,to analysis the " China-US trade friction" reporting framework of the People's Daily.The thesis consists of four parts: introduction,Research and Design,Context,Conclusion and discussion.The first chapter introduces the research background and significance,summarizes the relevant literatures of international trade friction reports and framework theory,and defines the core concept.The second chapter of the Research Design determines the research questions,objects and methods,selects the samples and constructs the categories.The Context is divided into three chapters to explore the framework of reports.Among them,the third chapter analyzes the high-level framework of the reports from its trend,theme and version distribution,in the them analysis,its distribution,rheology and correlations with the Baidu index demand spectrum are explored.The fourth chapter analyzes the middle-level framework of the reports from its reports' source and construction.The fifth chapter analyzes the low-level framework of the reports from its high-frequency vocabularies and metaphorical expressions.In the Conclusion and Discussion of the sixth chapter,the framework characteristics and reporting strategies of the reports are summarized,and the limitations of the research are discussed.
