With the improvement of medical and health technology, people's life expectancy continues to increase, and my country will face severe aging challenges. As a new model that combines medical care and long-term care, the combined medical care and elderly care model has attracted attention. But so far, there are still problems in its development, such as improper connection between medical care and pension, and lack of professionals. The introduction of social work in the integrated medical care and elderly care institutions can provide more professional integrated medical care and elderly care services for the elderly.Under the guidance of social role theory, this article conducts an in-depth analysis of the service development of Quanzhou R Nursing Home,Hangzhou Q Medical Nursing Center and Xiamen L Love Nursing Home. The role positioning of social work in the three integrated medical care and elderly care institutions can be attributed to direct roles such as service providers, supporters, coordinators, educators, and propagandists, and indirect roles such as resource acquirers, managers, and policy influencers.Analyzing the performance of the deviation of the role positioning of social workers reveals: first,in the integrated medical care and elderly care institutions, social workers are insufficient in their own capabilities to be qualified for the position of professional social workers, resulting in role distance and work enthusiasm take a hit;second, social workers have a vague understanding of the role they want to play, and the relevant personnel in the organization do not understand social work, which blurs it from the role of administrative staff and volunteers;third, when taking on multiple roles, the standard and norms of roles conflict with each other, leading to conflicts in the roles of social workers, thus failing to carry out services smoothly.Through semi-structured interviews,it is found that the reasons for the deviation of role positioning include in the integrated medical care and elderly care institutions, other service subjects and service objects have inconsistent expectations of the role of social workers;social workers are not qualified for this role due to their inadequate literacy. And the integration of medical and elderly care has to be developed and perfected, and its institutional environment has to mature yet.In response to the above reasons, this article proposes that social workers should adapt to this role faster and provide professional services better with the assistance of social work supervision;effectively carry out role understanding, learning and practice, and improve their own capabilities;report work regularly,to effectively strengthen communication and obtain institutional support.Based on the information obtained, this article summarizes and reflects on the role positioning deviation of social workers in the integrated medical care and elderly care institutions, and summarizes and reflects on the suggestions that help social workers find their own role positioning, including social workers forming correct role recognition and performing roles.Study, such as participating in training, focus on improving one's own professional skills;use practical actions and actual service effects to enhance the organization's understanding of social workers and obtain effective support from the organization;play the role of policy influencers and actively promote the establishment of relevant departments Improve policy support for social workers;develop social work based on the national conditions and actual needs of the country, and cultivate high-quality interdisciplinary social work talents.
