A Study On The Role Dilemma Of Medical Social Workers In The Service Process For Cancer Patients

With the rapid development of China's economy,science and technology,the level of medical technology has also been greatly improved.While a variety of diseases can be cured,people's demand for psychological,social and other aspects in the treatment process presents an upward trend to some extent.It is worth noting that cancer patients,due to the particularity of their conditions,need more care and support from families,medical institutions and the society in the process of medical treatment.As a result,many hospitals have set up service programs for cancer patients with the participation of medical and social workers.J province's "medical road has me" is a project to provide psychological and social support services for cancer patients based on the comprehensive needs of "physiology-psychology-society".The project provides a platform for medical social workers to play an important role in the medical field.It is not only the presentation of Chinese medical institutions adapting to the modern medical system,but also the presentation of medical social workers improving their professional status in the medical and health field.However,because social workers are involved in medical institutions,providing psychological and social support for cancer patients is still in its infancy in China,and its role in the service process needs to be further clarified.Based on this,this paper adopts the qualitative research method and takes advantage of the opportunity of the author to participate in the project "medical road has me" in the second half of 2018 in the resident hospital.The cancer and tumor patients in the radiotherapy department of the resident hospital are taken as the service objects to conduct research on the dilemma of the role of medical social workers encountered in the practice process of the project.The study found that the role of the medical social workers who participated in the project was weakened in the process of serving patients.The analysis of the reasons for the dilemma of the role of medical social workers is mainly in the following aspects.Secondly,the medical social work system is not perfect.Thirdly,part of the roles of medical staff and medical social workers overlap,causing problems in responsibilities.Finally,social workers lack professional theoretical knowledge,relevant medical and psychological knowledge,and service attitude.In view of the above difficulties,this study proposes countermeasures and Suggestions for strengthening the role of medical social workers in the following aspects: first,with the support of national macro policies,relevant laws and regulations are issued to clarify the position and positioning of medical social workers;Second,the hospital should increase the support for social workers,establish the medical social work team management,evaluation,incentive promotion system,according to the actual situation of the hospital,give medical social workers accurate positioning and functions;Third,colleges and universities should strengthen the professional education of medical social work,set up fine education,and cultivate social workers with professional skills.Fourthly,for social workers themselves,it is necessary to strengthen the study of professional knowledge and medical and health knowledge,clarify the norms and standards of medical and social work services,maintain the social workers' profession in hospitals,be confident in their profession,expand their professional knowledge,start from small things,and balance the ideal with the value.Finally,for "medical road has me" project in the predicament of role in the medical social work experience and reflection,combining with the development of medical social workers at the present stage in China is just developing stage,through the project practice,clear and strengthen the role of medical social workers,improve the comprehensive quality of medical social workers,to promote the development of medical social work career in our country,and go deep into the core part of the medical social work in the field of medical development.
