With the economic development of our country entering the new normal,a series of unexpected public events,such as natural disasters,accident disasters,public health events and social security events,are also coming,which have become an important factor affecting China’s social stability,economic development and people’s health and safety.As early as the SARS and Wenchuan earthquake,social work played a very important role in helping the disabled groups in professional services,and was widely recognized and supported by all walks of life.In early 2020,COVID-19’s outbreak seriously threatened the safety of people’s lives and property and the physical and mental health development,which caused a huge negative impact on social,economic and social development and people’s lives and health.Social work,which helps people to help themselves,has played an important role in COVID-19’s prevention and control.It mainly includes emotional support,psychological counseling,support and so on.Taking COVID-19’s prevention and control as the breakthrough point,this paper selects five specific cases of the three major methods of social work in response to epidemic prevention and control.By using literature research and case analysis methods,this paper analyzes the advantages and ethical advantages of social work in COVID-19’s prevention and control,and further explores the role of social work in the whole public health event.At the same time,the paper analyzes,generalizes and summarizes the practical problems exposed by social work in the prevention and control of epidemic situation,and puts forward relevant countermeasures,which will make sufficient preparations for the social work to improve the work efficiency and enhance professional ability in response to public emergencies in the future.
