| Facing the normalization of ’change’ and the development trend of positive psychological education,it has become an important part of disaster social work to assist adolescents to effectively adapt to changes and improve their mental health and quality of life.Guided by evidence-based social work, this study combines theories and techniques of acceptance and commitment therapy, strengths perspective, and group social work to explore social work intervention strategies to improve adolescent quality of life in major public health emergencies. At the same time, through the design of a pilot experiment to verify the effectiveness of the intervention strategy,to build a positive, scientific and effective theoretical model of strengthinformed acceptance and commitment therapy(SACT).Provide a certain scientific basis for social work to intervene in the quality of life of adolescents under the background of major public health emergencies, enrich the concepts and methods of disaster social work. This study used a structural equation model and single-group,repeated-measures experimental designs.Firstly, through the method of structural equation modeling,we explore the relationship between social exclusion, threat control, and quality of life among adolescents, and test the mediation model that social exclusion affects quality of life through threat control.Secondly, three measurements were taken of adolescents recruited to participate in the intervention experiment. The dependent variables were quality of life and anxiety, and repeatedmeasures analysis was employed to make statistical inferences about the within-group changes in the dependent variables at the three time points, and report the partial eta-squared effect sizes(ηp2)and the statistical power(1-β)to assess the effectiveness of the intervention.Multiple comparisons were performed by post hoc tests to clarify the changes of dependent variables at specific time points. This study draws the following conclusions:First, major public health emergencies induced social exclusion has a direct negative relationship with quality of life. The stronger threat control, the buffer the negative impact of social exclusion on quality of life.Second, the combination of acceptance and commitment therapy and strengths perspective in group social work can help adolescents in the context of major public health emergencies to improve their control capabilities.Strengths-based intervention can be used as an effective positive intervention strategy applied to adolescents in the context of major public health emergencies.Third, the group intervention of strength-informed acceptance and commitment therapy can help adolescents in the context of major public health emergencies to reduce negative emotions(e.g.,anxiety),and the intervention has immediate and short-term changes.Fourth, the group intervention of strength-informed acceptance and commitment therapy can help adolescents in the context of major public health emergencies to improve their quality of life, and the intervention has short-term changes.Although this study is promising, there are still some limitations.First, the study subjects are only adolescents who are not infected with the novel coronavirus,so the application scope of the study results is limited;Second, the measurement tools are self-reported questionnaires or scales,so it is prone to recall bias, which affects the accuracy of the measurement;Third, the study is a non-randomized controlled trial,so the effectiveness of the intervention is limited;Fourth, the study subjects stayed at home for a long time, and the study lacked the investigation of family-related factors,so the link between the quality of life of adolescents and the background of major public health emergencies was not comprehensive enough. These problems need to be further studied and addressed in the future. |
