| Objective:To assess the influence of tiaoshen wenyang therapy combined with intermittent catheterization on clinical grading of urinary retention, bladder function score, residual urine volume and positive rate of leukocytes on patients with urinary retention after stroke of the renal Yang insufficiency syndrome, which provides novel ideas and strategies in acupuncture therapy of urinary retention after stroke. Methods:A total of 78 patients with urinary retention after stroke of the renal Yang insufficiency syndrome hospitalized in the Acupuncture Rehabilitation Department, and Urology Surgery of Xiamen Hospital of T.C.M from 1stJanuary 2020 to 31stDecember 2020 were recruited. They were randomly divided to the control group(n=39)and the experimental group(n=39).Patients in the control group were treated with intermittent catheterization, and those in the experimental group were treated with intermittent catherization combined with the traditional Chinese medicine therapy of tiaoshen wenyang therapy daily for 2 weeks.Clinical grading of urinary retention, bladder function score, residual urine volume and positive rate of leukocytes before and after treatment in both groups were recorded and compared using SPSS26.0.Results:1.Baseline characteristics:There were no significant differences in the age, sex, clinical course and pathological subtype of stroke between the control group and the experimental group(all P>0.05),suggesting that baseline characteristics were comparable between groups.2.Clinical grading of urinary retention, bladder function score and residual urine volume:There were no significant differences in clinical grading of urinary retention, bladder function score and residual urine volume before treatment between the control group and the experimental group(all P>0.05),indicating that these indexes were comparable before treatment. After treatment, patients in both groups showed improved clinical grading of urinary retention and bladder function score, and reduced residual urine volume(all P<0.05).Notably,their improvements were significantly pronounced in the experimental group than those of the control group(P<0.05).3.Positive rate of leukocytes:Positive rate of leukocytes was significantly reduced in both groups after treatment(P<0.05),which was significantly lower in the experimental group than that of the control group(P<0.05).4.Catheterization time and catheterization rate:Catheterization time was significantly shorter, and catheterization rate was significantly higher in the experimental group than those of the control group(P<0.05).5.Therapeutic efficacy comparison:Therapeutic efficacy was significantly improved in both groups(P<0.05),which was significantly higher in the experimental group than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Tiaoshen wenyang therapy combined with intermittent catheterization significantly improve the ability of automatic micturition, reduce residual urine volume, shorten catheterization time, enhance catheterization rate, and decrease the risk of urinary tract infection, thus improving the quality of life of patients with urinary retention after stroke of the renal Yang insufficiency syndrome. It should be widely applied in clinical practice. |
