ObjectiveThis paper analyzes the work tasks of palliative care nursing post,to form the framework of palliative care ability of higher vocational nursing students,and formulate the items of knowledge system of palliative care course;makes questionnaire to analyze their palliative care knowledge level and learning needs;hereby primarily constructs the knowledge system of palliative care course in higher vocational nursing specialty;adopt Delphi method to form the knowledge system.MethodsIt uses literature research method and Expert Meeting method,to form the framework of palliative care ability of higher vocational nursing students;makes use of questionnaire to select the nursing students in a vocational college by convenience sampling,and conduct a survey on their palliative care knowledge level and learning needs,with the survey tools including general information questionnaire and the Palliative care Quiz for Nursing and palliative care knowledge demand questionnaire(self-made);adopts Delphi method to carry out two rounds of expert consultation to build the knowledge system of palliative care course.Results1.The paper has formed the framework of palliative care ability of nursing students,including five kinds: professional nursing ability,nursing evaluation and decision-making ability,humanitarian respect,nursing management ability and professional development ability;and accordingly formulated the items of the framework of the course knowledge system,including 6 dimensions in 18 items.2.The palliative care knowledge level and learning needs of higher vocational nursing studentsThe score of their palliative care knowledge was 8.77±2.17,with the accuracy of43.85%;the average score was 1.89 ± 1.01 for dimension one(the philosophy and principles of palliative care)of the three of palliative care,with the average accuracy of47.25%;the average score for dimension two(symptom control)was 6.09±1.72,with the average accuracy of 46.85%;the average score for dimension three(psychological and social support)was 0.80±0.74,with the average accuracy of 26.67%.The top five requirements of nursing students for palliative care knowledge were: pain symptoms nursing 2.91±0.38 points,the concept and development of palliative care2.89±0.39 points,basic nursing skills 2.88±0.40 points,the death education 2.85±0.41 points,and palliative care ethics and law 2.81±0.42 points.The last five requirements were:palliative care scientific research 1.88±0.7 points,palliative care teaching and practice guidance 2.03±0.8 points,palliative care nursing management 2.09±0.8 points,bereavement care 2.58±0.46 points and spiritual care 2.60±0.45 points.According to the survey results,it has adjusted the knowledge items of palliative care course to 4dimensions in 15 items.3.Formed a prototype of the knowledge system of palliative care course,including 4first-level indicators(Introduction to palliative care,symptom control,comfortable care,psychological support and humanitarian respect),15 second-level indicators and 55third-level indicators.4.Establishment of the knowledge system of palliative care course in higher vocational nursing specialtyWe invited 22 experts to carry out two rounds of expert consultation.The authority coefficient of the experts was 0.785,and the Kendall coordination coefficients of the results of the two rounds of expert consultation were 0.204 and 0.386,respectively,with P< 0.001.And we established the knowledge system,including 5 first-level indicators,14second-level indicators and 48 third-level indicators.Conclusion1.The formation of the palliative care ability framework has provided guidance for the formulation of the items of the course knowledge system,which meets the requirements of the ability-based course development model.2.The investigation and analysis of their knowledge level and learning needs show that it is necessary to increase the knowledge related to palliative care in nursing courses,and it has certain practicability to adjust the items of the system based on the results of learning needs.3.This paper uses Delphi method to construct the knowledge system of palliative care course in higher vocational nursing specialty,including 5 first-level indicators,14second-level indicators and 48 third-level indicators,which lays the foundation for the construction of palliative care course.
