| With the development of science and social economy,the transformation of medical model,the change of population,age and knowledge structure,people’s health concept has changed greatly,and the requirements for medical and health care services have been continuously improved.In recent years,the Ministry of Health of China has launched the "High Quality Nursing Service Demonstration Project" based on "consolidating basic nursing and providing satisfactory service",deepening the service concept of "patient-centered",which puts forward higher requirements for the professional skills and humanistic quality of nursing staff.However,in real life,the disputes between doctors,patients and nurses are becoming more and more serious.One of the reasons is that the current medical education focuses more on the training of professional knowledge and skills,especially in the vocational nursing colleges which focus on the training of students’ skills,ignoring the training of humanistic care ability,which is an important part of students’ professional ability,leading to the serious lack of students.It is difficult for the nurse students to meet the requirements of high quality nursing service.In this paper,the current situation of the humanistic care ability of the three-year and 2 + 3Five-Year Higher Vocational Nursing Students from four nursing colleges in Nanning City of Guangxi Province was investigated in the ways of questionnaire and interview.In the questionnaire survey,we designed and compiled the humanistic care ability scale for higher vocational nursing students,which included two parts,the general situation questionnaire and Humanistic Care Scale(CAI).Through the electronic questionnaire sent out by Wenjuanxing,we collected 3030 valid questionnaires.The interviewees of this study were divided into two groups,one was made up of 12 interns from the four higher vocational nursing colleges involved in this study,the other was made up of 8 directors,deputy directors,head nurses and clinical teachers of nursing department from four first-class hospitals in Nanning City.And face-to-face,one-to-one interviews with qualitative research and semi-structured interviews were conducted to find out how well the higher vocational nursing students provided humanistic care during the internship,and what they needed for related education.The result of the questionnaire showed that the total CAI score of 3030 samples was 178.88±18.35,which was at the low level of foreign norm(total score of CAI < 203.1),and at the low level of domestic norm(total score of CAI is between 210.53-171.55).And the scores of three dimensions including knowing,courage and patience were all lower than that of the domestic norm and foreign norm,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Through the correlation analysis,we knew that the factors making statistical difference in the total score of humanistic care ability of higher vocational nursing students included grade,once having been class cadres or not,school years,being science students or art students when enrolled,first college entrance voluntary,whether to choose the major by their willingness,how much they liked their major,their willingness to work as a nurse,the family economic situation,how active they were in participating practical activities,health status of the students and their families,the recognition of their interpersonal communication ability and caring ability,whether they had the experience of caring for patients,caring atmosphere,economy status of the students’ families,etc.The results of the interview showed that the lack of humanistic care ability of nursing students in Nanning vocational college in clinical practice was reflected in their lack of ability to solve practical problems with nursing theoretical knowledge,superficial humanistic knowledge and insufficient humanistic quality,resulting in insufficient communication ability with patients and limited care for patients.Humanistic care education from college and clinical was not enough.As to the strategy of improving the humanistic care ability of these students,it was suggested that the school should improve the level of humanistic care education,the government should provide legal policy support,the web and society should play a positive role in public opinion guidance,and the students should develop their comprehensive abilities,among which the school’s various measures were the key.In this study,a case of teaching reform aiming at the improvement of the humanistic care ability of nursing students in higher vocational colleges was presented as one of the school’s measures,and it was verified that the practice could effectively improve the humanistic care ability of the students. |
