With the rapid development of China’s tourism industry and the continuous expansion of the scale of tourism market,the competition between local tourism products is becoming more and more fierce.As a bridge between consumers and tourism products,packaging can quickly attract consumers’ attention and display and spread local culture,which has become an indispensable means for the development of tourism products.The study found that diversity and inheritance of local culture has a unique,local culture and the integration of tourism product packaging design,on the one hand,can satisfy the consumers to tourism products high level of cultural and spiritual pursuit,cause consumer empathy,on the other hand can shape and the spread of local culture image,improve the cultural connotation of tourism products and the performance of the personality,It plays an important role in the development of local tourism industry.Based on the theory of cultural expression,this paper studies the packaging design of local tourism products by using literature analysis,field investigation,case analysis,comparative analysis and interdisciplinary comprehensive analysis.The research content is divided into seven chapters as follows:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research background,purpose and significance,research status at home and abroad,research content,methods,innovations and the framework of the paper.The second chapter is the research status part,mainly through the tourism product packaging market research and field investigation,found the problems of tourism product packaging and its root analysis.The third chapter is the basic theory part,introduces the theory of cultural expression,explores the feasibility of applying cultural expression theory to the packaging design of local tourism products,and summarizes the feasibility of the relationship between the two.The fourth chapter is the strategy part,through the cultural expression theory to the typical case analysis of packaging design,summed up the theory of local tourism product packaging design strategy,so as to guide the dunhuang tourism product packaging design method.The fifth chapter is the application design part,how to make use of the patterns,colors and behaviors in Dunhuang culture under the guidance of culture table theory to highlight the overall cultural atmosphere and characteristics of dunhuang tourism product packaging design,so as to form a package that has a sense of history and culture and can meet the emotional demands and use demands of consumers.The sixth chapter is the conclusion part,expounds the conclusion and prospect of this study.Through the application of cultural expression theory in the packaging design of local tourism products,this paper explores the feasibility of cultural expression theory in the packaging design of local tourism products.By analyzing the feasible design mode of specific cases and verifying it in the packaging design of Dunhuang tourism products,it can not only spread Dunhuang culture,but also meet consumers’ emotions and demands for use,and achieve the purpose of expanding new ideas and methods for the packaging design of local tourism products.
