This paper,guided by relevant theories of design management,studies the method of constructing a design language system to guide the creative design of cultural and creative products.Taking Dunhuang culture as enter point,it guides the consistency of the design genes of Dunhuang brand cultural products through the construction of Dunhuang cultural and creative product design language specifications in order to achieve the purpose of brand image management.Help cultural and creative brands to better enhance brand perception and brand value,systematically carry out brand communication,and enhance user loyalty.This article is divided into three parts for researching.The first part focuses on sorting out the concept and development of cultural and creative industries,conducts case studies on the cultural and creative industries of The Palace Museum,Taipei Palace Museum and The British Museum,and concludes their characteristics and differences in product development,operation models,marketing methods,and modern innovation and development.The second part is the study of the historical and cultural connotation of the Dunhuang grotto art and the development status of the cultural and creative industry in Dunhuang district.Focusing on the development of Dunhuang cultural and Buddhist cultural communication and development from the timeline,by further exploring the artistic characteristics and categories of the Dunhuang grottoes,through in-depth excavating of the cultural connotation of Dunhuang,the second part also sum up Dunhuang culture’s true value and provide a cultural theoretical basis for its brand construction.The third part conducts the research on the design language system,focusing on the research of related concepts,development traceability,methods,steps and models involved in the design language.Applying the method of design management to construct brands,to establish a design language manual,and use the manual as a guideline to design cultural innovation products for the most valuable IP in Dunhuang culture.The research,based on the method of bringing in design language,explored the contemporary value of Dunhuang grotto art to modern cultural and creative design,fashion art design and the cultural and creative brand construction.The exploration of design language system for Dunhuang’s cultural and creative brand has theoretical and practical significance for brand construction in cultural and creative industry,as well as the development of cultural and creative product design standardization.The innovative research based on design language specifications is a new way to protect and disseminate Dunhuang culture.With guidance and specifications of the design language manual,a series of Dunhuang IP cultural and creative products with a more contemporary sense can be successfully developed.
