Research On The Renewal Of Public Space In Shanty Towns Under The Concept Of Social Integration

At present,China is still a typical country with large floating population.According to the data of the seventh national census,the floating population in China is 492.76 million,accounting for more than 34% of the total population.Chengdu is an important economic center city in Western China.The number of floating population in Chengdu is far higher than the national average.In recent years,the word "rongpiao" appears more and more frequently in the public view.Shanty towns have the advantages of being close to the city center and low rent,so most of the low-income floating population choose to rent here.Shanty towns become the buffer for them to integrate into the city.The public space of shantytowns is also an important place for them to carry out social activities,but there are a series of problems in the public space of shantytowns,which affect the integration of the floating population.At present,there is a lack of research on the public space of shantytowns from the perspective of social integration.This paper studies the integration of population mobility based on the concept of social integration.Firstly,this paper summarizes and analyzes the research on social integration index system by scholars in recent years,and according to the word frequency analysis,applicability evaluation and the correlation with this study,it puts forward five elements of "economic integration","social relationship integration","behavior integration","cultural integration" and "psychological integration",The public space and activity crowd of shanty towns were studied.At the element level of "economic integration" and "social relationship integration",this paper mainly analyzes the employment,economic demand,social relationship and spatial characteristics of the floating population in shanty towns through questionnaire,interview and spatial pattern analysis.At the element level of "behavior integration",the behavior map method is mainly used to analyze the crowd’s behavior activities in the public space of the selected cases.At the element level of "cultural integration" and "psychological integration",based on the connotation analysis of the element level,SD evaluation factors are constructed,and the floating population is evaluated by SD questionnaire to obtain the basic data of the floating population’s psychological perception of the public space in shantytowns.Furthermore,SPSS statistical analysis software is used to analyze the significance of SD basic data to obtain the spatial evaluation of floating population on the public space of shantytowns in the level of "cultural integration" and "psychological integration".Based on the above analysis results,this paper summarizes the problems existing in the promotion of social integration of public space in shanty towns,and puts forward the renewal principles of public space for the five integration elements.As for the elements of economic integration,the transformation follows the principle of gradual improvement and moderate development.In terms of the integration elements of social relations,the transformation follows the principles of multiple participation and diverse interaction.On the elements of behavior integration,the transformation follows the principles of human-oriented and functional complexity.In terms of cultural integration elements,the transformation follows the principles of context continuity and public identity.In terms of psychological integration elements,the transformation follows the principles of safety,comfort and public participation.Finally,it puts forward some renewal strategies,such as "limiting the development boundary","constructing the street space of elastic self-organized economic development" and "strengthening the courtyard space of daily function".Nowadays,the city has changed from "incremental development" to "stock development",from the original "economic old district transformation" to "social urban renewal",and urban renewal pays more attention to social significance.This paper expounds that the urban renewal of shanty towns is not only the addition and improvement of spatial functions,but also the discovery of the other side of Urban Non inclusiveness that may "drive away" the low-income groups,so as to build a more suitable public space for them to live and communicate,and enhance the social integration of this group.
