| With the accelerated urbanization and the deepening of aging, older people are making up a larger and larger proportion of the mobile population in China.Due to the sense of responsibility in the traditional family concept, the old drifters who go to their children’s cities to help take care of their grandchildren are facing the important problem of social integration difficulties.Since there is a lack of investigation on the social integration of the old drifters from the perspective of urban planning,it is of great social significance to explore the causes and factors affecting the social integration of the old drifters, and to explore the ways to optimize the social integration of the old drifters in terms of community public interaction space. On the basis of literature research, this paper defines the concept of the old drifters, interprets the theory of social integration and selects the perspective of integration.it investigates the daily behaviors of the old drifters by using the temporal geography method, explores the temporal-spatial characteristics, social relationship characteristics and psychological characteristics in the daily behaviors of the old drifters, and summarizes the differences of their spatial behavioral needs. The paper analyzed the influencing factors of the social integration of the old drifters from the individual level, social level and spatial environment level. The interaction activities in the public interaction space is investigated by the behavior map method.Spatial characteristics affecting the social integration of the old drifters is summarized.Based on the behavioral characteristics of the old drifters and the influencing factors of social integration, the strategies related to the optimization of the public space in the South Second Ring Road community are proposed. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows.First, the behavioral characteristics of the old drifters are summarized. In terms of behavior-time space, the old drifters have the characteristics of scattered activity time, short distance, and activity sequence around grandchildren;in terms of social relationship, the social relationship of the old drifters depends on family members and neighbors, and social activities are generated along with grandchildren and have randomness;in terms of space-use psychology, the basic level of space demand is around children, and the demand for space respect is higher.Second, the influence of social and spatial factors on the social integration of the old drifters is summarized. The social level uncovers two influencing factors of urban policy and community governance;the spatial level summarizes the influencing factors of completeness of facilities, composite of functions, interaction of nodes, and elasticity and dynamic adaptability of space.Thirdly, the strategies for optimizing the public interaction space of the South Second Ring Road community to promote the social integration of the old drifters are proposed. At the social level, strategies such as socialized upbringing, establishment of an equalization system of public service facilities for the old drifters, and integration of hardware facilities and software facilities are proposed. At the spatial level,it puts forward strategies such as taking caring for grandchildren as the main line of behavior, integrating and connecting appropriate related facilities and venues, integrating community activities with different regional culture, improving the composite functions of existing public facilities, increasing communication and related activities to stimulate the setting of places, and enhancing the elasticity and dynamic adaptability of community public space. The optimization strategy is applied in the public communication space of the South Second Ring Community. |
