Carrying capacity is related to economic development and social development.How to find a balance between economic development and social development is a problem that the government needs to face.In recent years,the economy of West Guangdong has developed rapidly,but the problems of excessive use of resources and ecological environment pollution have become the "stumbling block" for the healthy development of economy,and the contradiction between resources and environment and social and economic development has become more and more prominent.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the importance of ecological civilization construction has been constantly emphasized,which has promoted China's ecological civilization construction to a new level.The coordinated development of economic and social development and ecological civilization has become the focus of economic development.West Guangdong is also facing more development opportunities.The opportunity of the construction of Guangdong Coastal Economic Belt,the implementation of regional coordinated development strategy in Guangdong,and the construction and traffic of high-speed railway in West Guangdong Coastal Area provide policy and infrastructure advantages for the development of West Guangdong.In this context,how to explore the balance between economic development and ecological construction is an important "examination" to test the governance ability of the government of West Guangdong,and the key to answer this "examination" is to objectively evaluate the carrying capacity of resources and environment in West Guangdong and understand its current carrying situation.Taking yuexi area as the research object,on the basis of the existing literature,the present situation of the resources and environment in yuexi area as the basis,the resource scarcity theory,complex system theory,sustainable development theory as theoretical basis of research,such as building the yuexi area resources and environment bearing capacity index system,to determine the economic strength,people's living and development potential to represent economic development force index,population growth,resource supply and resource consumption to represent resources bearing capacity index,ecological environment,environmental pollution and to represent the environment bearing capacity index.On this basis,the use of entropy and topsis method to measure the yuexi area resources and environment bearing capacity index,analysis of resource environmental bearing capacity of ten years yuexi area change tendency,and using grey correlation method to analyze the yuexi area,the bearing capacity of resources and environment factors,finally puts forward Suggestions to improve the yuexi area resources and environment carrying capacity.This paper is divided into five parts: The first part is the introduction,which elaborates the research background,the purpose and significance of the research,the research status at home and abroad as well as the research ideas and methods;The second part differentiates the definitions of the resource and environment carrying capacity and expounds the theoretical basis of the resource and environment carrying capacity.The third part systematically analyzes the present situation of the resources and environment in the west of Guangdong,which lays the foundation for the comprehensive analysis of the resources and environment carrying capacity.In the fourth part,the econometric model used in this paper is introduced,and the evaluation index of resource and environment carrying capacity is determined.On this basis,the resource and environment carrying capacity index of Zhanjiang,Maoming and Yangjiang in the west of Guangdong is calculated and analyzed.The fifth part combined with the previous analysis,put forward the countermeasures to improve the carrying capacity of resources and environment.
