Research On The Evaluation Of Resource And Environmental Carrying Capacity Of Shandong Peninsula Urban Agglomeration Based On The Principle Of Combination Empowerment-TOPSIS

With the infinite expansion of urban population and human activities,cities are faced with problems such as lack of resources and environmental disruption,which bring huge challenges to urban sustainable development.The evaluation of resources and environment carrying capacity(RECC)is an important basis for urban sustainable development.The Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration is one of the important agglomerations at the level of “development and expansion” in the 14 th Five-Year Plan of China,covering 16 cities in Shandong.The 2022 Shandong Peninsula Urban Agglomeration Development Plan points out that the region faces the challenge of tightening resource and environmental constraints.As an important economic growth pole in the Yellow River Basin,a comprehensive assessment of RECC is important to take the lead in ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.The main research contents of this study include:First of all,Cite Space knowledge map was used to visually analyze literatures on urban carrying capacity at home and abroad,and the knowledge structure of urban carrying capacity research category was summarized.The theoretical model of urban RECCs and research progress at home and abroad were analyzed,providing theoretical basis for the construction of RECC index system.Secondly,this study analyzed the strategic positioning,development goals,resources and environment,social and economic situation of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration,which provided a realistic basis for evaluating RECC of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration.On this basis,this study completed the selection of RECC comprehensive evaluation index system of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration from resources,environment,and socioeconomic dimension.Then,this study adopted entropy-AHP method to carry out the weighting of index system,and built the combination weighting-TOPSIS evaluation model.Finally,this study completed the RECC comprehensive evaluation results of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration from 2008 to 2020,analyzed the temporal variation trend and spatial distribution characteristics of its RECC.Furthermore,the urban RECC of Shenghui,Jiaodong and Lunan economic circles,as well as the temporal evolution trend and spatial distribution differences of each RECC subsystem in Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration were further analyzed.The research conclusion of this study shows that:(1)The overall urban RECCs of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration is relatively stable,each subsystems of environment,resources,and socioeconomic dimension have risen and fallen,and have undergone different degrees of change,so that the overall urban RECCs keep in a relatively stable state.The east side urban RECC is higher than the west side,and the middle urban RECC is higher than the southwest side and the northwest side from the spatial perspective;(2)From the perspective of three economic circles of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration,the urban RECC evaluation results generally presents the highest in Jiaodong economic circle,followed by Shenghui economic circle,and finally in Lunan economic circle;(3)The advantage of high environmental carrying dimension of Jiaodong economic circle is an important factor to maintain the improvement of its urban RECC;(4)The spatial distribution characteristics of urban RECC in Shenghui economic circle are consistent with the socioeconomic dimension;(5)The socioeconomic carrying capacity of Lunan economic circle still has a lot of room for development.Combined with the reality development of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration,this study put forward some research enlightenments such as intensive utilization of water resources,narrowing regional gaps,improving Jinan social and economic radiation and driving ability,giving full play to the environmental carrying advantages of the Jiaodong economic circle,fully exploring resources of the Lunan economic circle,and promoting the coordinated development of three economic circles.The research results will provide reference for promoting sustainable development and regional coordinated development of Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration.
