Resources and the environment are vital to the survival and development of human society.Mineral resources have played a great role in the rapid development of our economy and are gradually becoming an important part of it.In order to achieve sustainable development of mineral resources and smooth socio-economic development,it is therefore extremely important to conduct a study on the environmental carrying capacity of mineral resources,which is also extremely important to balance the relationship between socio-economic and mineral resources environment.This study took mineral development zones in Yunnan Province as the research object and established a multi-factor resource and environmental carrying capacity evaluation index system for mineral development zones.The original values of each indicator were eliminated using the extreme difference transformation method,and the indicator weights were determined by the entropy method.Then,the weighted summation method was used to obtain the score of each mineral development zone and classify the resource and environmental carrying capacity level of each mineral development zone.Corresponding countermeasures and suggestions were put forward according to the corresponding level of carrying capacity to promote the sustainable development of mineral resources in mineral development zones in Yunnan Province.On the one hand,the results of the study were of great significance in promoting the sustainable development of Yunnan's mineral resources,improving the living standards of the people in the region and accelerating the transformation of the economy.On the other hand,the results could be used as a basis for establishing a regional carrying capacity assessment,monitoring and early warning system,and thus publishing a carrying capacity monitoring and early warning report.At the same time,the results of this study provided strong support for the construction of ecological civilization,the development,use and protection of national land space and the formulation of national macro warfare strategies in China.The results of the study showed that 9 mineral development zones had the highest environmental carrying capacity of mineral resources,accounting for 10.21%of the area of mineral development zones,mainly in Baoshan City,Puer City,Zhaotong City,Honghe Prefecture and Diqing Prefecture;14 mineral development zones had a higher environmental carrying capacity of mineral resources,accounting for 20.26%,mainly in Kunming City,Yuxi City,Lijiang City,Honghe Prefecture,Chuxiong Prefecture,Dali Prefecture,Dehong Prefecture and Diqing Prefecture.The environmental carrying capacity of mineral resources in 23 mineral development zones was medium,accounting for 26.57%,mainly in Qujing City,Yuxi City,Baoshan City,Puer City,Lincang City,Wenshan Prefecture,Honghe Prefecture,Chuxiong Prefecture,Dali Prefecture and Nujiang Prefecture.The environmental carrying capacity of mineral resources in 14 mineral development zones was low,accounting for 32.76%,mainly in Qujing City,Yuxi City,Baoshan City,Zhaotong City,Lincang City,Honghe Prefecture and Diqing Prefecture.8 mineral development zones had the lowest environmental carrying capacity of mineral resources,accounting for 10.20%,mainly in Kunming City,Qujing City,Yuxi City and Dali Prefecture.The results of the study not only enrich the research on the evaluation of the resource and environmental carrying capacity of mining areas,but also provide a reference for the evaluation of the resource and environmental carrying capacity of other areas.
