With the rapid development of economy, politics and technology in China, tourism has become one of the fastest and biggest growth industries. The Ctrip website pioneered a new service and business model in 1999,setting a good example for online travel service businesses. There are now literally thousands of online travel companies.A competitive structure has been formed by culture-oriented full-package travel, modal travel services provider and tailor-made travel. In this very competitive travel market, the contention is that a startup company should avoid joining the competition with the highly evolved full-package travel industry or and engaging in a price-war with modal travel service providers which possess huge financial power. The tailor-made travel industry is immature and an open race. The TS is a start-up company running adventure sports travel business. The TS wishes to achieve a competitive position must fully develop its core competences, use the advantages of market hotspots, follow market trends, find and cooperate with dominant tourism resources, and build its own creative business model. This paper study the TS company adventure travel programs, using the Business Model Element Canvas analysis tool by Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur.Grouping the 9 elements into business foundation, customers and financial three groups, each group are studied detail by detail to obtain a fuller understanding of the TS adventure travel business model. In the last part of this paper, recommendations for upgrade and adjustments in the practical application of the business model are given. The intent is to provide useful inspiration and learning to adjust and improve business models of other adventure travel or tailored travel solution companies.
