Research On Business Travel Process Reengineering Of ALB Company In APAC

Economic globalization leads to a big increase in business travels,which have become one of the main daily activities in the most companies.According to the latest report from GBTA(Global Business Travel Association),global travel expenditure reached $1.33 trillion in 2017,while China spent $346.5 billion with a growth rate of 9%,ranking No.1 in the world.As the second most controllable expense,business travel has caught more attention from many companies.Effective cost control will directly drive the company's profitability and improve its management level.ALB,a multinational corporation,mainly faces four pain points in its travel management especially in Asia-Pacific region,poor visibility of travel expenses,inefficient utilization of travel resources,inadequate accumulation of travel data and weak control of travel management.They are also the challenges for many other companies.Based on the international business travel environment,this paper comprehensively studies the domestic and foreign theories and research results related to travel management,and takes ALB's Asia-Pacific as the research object to analyze its current situation and root cause.Guided by the company's strategic development goals,based on the theories of stakeholders,shared services and process reengineering,it proposes the overall optimization ideas and specific solutions for ALB's travel management in APAC region,also suggests ensuring the effective implementation from four perspectives,management,executive,audit and analysis.Through the analysis of the performance of ALB's business travel process reengineering program in APAC,it is found that business travel is treated as a strategic investment internally.Effective travel policy,travel system's automation and process reengineering play an important role on achieving maximization on this investment return.Meanwhile,the collection of travel data and the integration of advanced systems could also ensure the travelers' safety.The conclusion of this study will not only help ALB company to improve its travel management and enhance its competitiveness,but also will enrich the relevant theoretical research,and provide reference for other foreign companies in their travel management.
