Investigation And Research On The Memorial Hall Of Figures In Nanjing Area

The function of the museum of historical figures is to display historical figures' life,thoughts,works,social activities and other achievements.The number of the museum of historical figures in Jiangsu Province is among the highest in China.In its capital city Nanjing,more than 20 museums of historical figures are open to the public.Therefore,it is very necessary for us to investigate the museum of historical figures in Nanjing because it can not only help us to know its current status but also explore the connotation of the city and enhance Nanjing's cultural influence.This thesis focuses on the museums of historical figures in Nanjing area.Based on previous literature,this study adopts two methods: literature analysis and field survey methods to study quality and operation of the museums of historical figures in Nanjing area.Specifically,this study selects John Rabe and international safety zone memorial hall of Nanjing University as its study case and discusses its historical changes,operating conditions,protection and finally gives utilization suggestions.This thesis is divided into three parts.First,it summarizes the quality of the museum of historical figures,highlights the character attributes and academic research features of these museums,and gives examples and general comments to the museum of historical figures in Nanjing.After that,this thesis focused on John Rabe and international safety zone memorial hall of Nanjing University(hereafter JR).Specifically,this thesis reviews the historical background of JR,analyzes its display system,and summarizes its operating characteristics from aspects of information acquisition and provision.Finally,based on previous analysis,this thesis gives some suggestions to JR for its operation from five perspectives,namely academic research,funding,exhibition,inter-library cooperation and audience.
