Nowadays,libraries are facing new opportunities and challenges,which urgently need transformation and reform.Great changes have taken place in the service environment,service objects and service means of University libraries,which also need to service transformation to adapted to the changes.Service capability is the core competitiveness of libraries.Therefore,University Libraries urgently need to reorganize the original business,optimize and merge the existing business,and add the business work urgently needed by the users to meet the new needs of users and improve the value of libraries.This research introduces the theory of value co-creation in the field of economics.It hopes to strengthen the core value of library which is service-oriented in the development of library business process,take satisfying users' needs and providing users with satisfactory services as the starting point,strengthen cooperation and exchange with users,realize value co-creation.Through the integration of resources and the interaction and cooperation with users,we can achieve value creation,and effectively improve the library's own value and user's experience value.This study is mainly discussed in seven parts:The first part,briefly introduces the research background and significance of this study,and analyses the research progress of domestic and foreign academic literature on Library Business Process Reengineering and value co-creation theory,so as to determine the research content and methods of this study,and puts forward the innovative points.The second part,the concepts and theoretical foundations of business process reengineering and value co-creation theory are summarized,and two viewpoints of value co-creation theory are introduced.The third part,on the basis of interviews with university librarians,carries out SWOT analysis of business restructuring of University libraries.Based on the concept of value co-creation,it puts forward that library value can be divided into two parts: self-value and user experience value,and analyses the feasibility of value co-creation theory in the implementation of business process restructuring of University libraries.The fourth part,through introducing the existing business process and organization of Dalian JiaoTong University Library,analyses the existing problems in its organizational structure and business process.The fifth part,this reseach puts forward the objectives,principles and overall design framework of business process reengineering of Dalian Jiaotong University Library.It considers that the types of needs and identities of library users should be identified.On this basis,it designs the organizational structure of three departments,one office and seven groups,which are more flexible and easy to communicate,and the business processes which are more convenient to interact with users.This reseach analyses how the library can create value together with users in resource service and user service in business process reengineering,so as to enhance the value of the library.The sixth part,summarizes how to guarantee the implementation of business process reengineering from six aspects.The seventh part,summarizes the research,,points out the shortcomings of the research,and puts forward the prospects for future research.
