This paper studies the problem of how to improve the process of collecting-and-categorizing in university library. With the deepening reform of the education system in our country, high education has made rapid development; the university library also entered a period of rapid development. In the new situation, collecting-and-categorizing tasks in editorial department of university library have been increasing, such as interviewing literature resources, procurement channels or the interviewing type and quantity of literature resource Many libraries editorial departments are facing the contradiction between traditional editorial workflow and the increasing requirement of editorial manpower and material resources.The author will use ZJ college library purchasing&cataloguing department as the research object, analyzes its collecting, accessing, purchasing and cataloguing in literature resources procession to find out the existing problems and reasons. With the study of domestic and international relevant theory and the combination of personal knowledge and innovation, give specific advices of how to improve the process collecting-and-categorizing in ZJ college library:to use of modern scientific method of logistics management; to integrate all the existing resources; to design a new process improvement scheme; to determine the matching organizational structure:including human resources configuration, staff’s job responsibilities, etc.. With the highest efficiency and the least cost of work, the best coordination and cooperation library collecting-and-categorizing activities can provide the best quality service for all readers.
