Now there is fierce business competition in the smartphones industry and products are constantly updated by different vendors.But because of China's huge population,the demand growth of smartphones stays heavy and China has become the focus of competition for more and more world-famous foreign vendors.Also the rising of domestic vendors make the competition more challenging.With the raise of customers' personal demands,there should be differentiation in phones,which needs vendors to find superior suppliers to supply new parts for phones.For this requirement,suppliers should learn to develop new parts with high efficiency and improve the innovation ability and product development ability continuously.If suppliers could establish and implement effective and appropriate New Product Development Process(NPDP)to realize the whole process of product from idea to stable mass production with high quality has become key point of success.The study on NPDP of this paper is based on the analysis of vibrator development in Consumer Electronics Industry.The case XX company discussed is a professional mobile phone parts supplier who provides vibrators for many famous vendors.As smartphones' renewal speed is accelerated,the original NPDP can't meet customers on time and quality requirements,and XX has been gradually overtaken by competitors in competition.So XX has urgent need for the optimization of process reengineering to improve competitiveness.In order to improve the problems of original NPDP,qualitative and quantitative analysis methods are used to analyze and identify the reasons of long development time and unstable product quality.Design For Six Sigma(DFSS)provides methods to shorten development time,reduce development costs and improve product quality.And it can be combined the current situation of XX to redesign process that is suitable for the recent market requirements.Concurrent Engineering(CE)needs development team to completely consider the whole process of product life cycle,which includes requirements analysis,product design,line arrangement,quality control and cost control.CE also needs to set up timely communication between departments and solve problems corporately.To address the aforementioned issues,this paper,based on DFSS,redesigned the NPDP of XX and used many CE modes,in an attempt to formulate a NPDP suitable for XX.And,through the above analysis,it proposed accordingly some management and support measures,strategies and suggestions.
