Purpose: Through the clinical trial of acupuncture at the Along Tendons Ashi acupoint to treat intractable hiccups after stroke, study the efficacy and symptom improvement of acupuncture at the Along Tendons Ashi acupoint therapy for intractable hiccups after stroke, provide new ideas and new methods for the clinical treatment of this disease, and broaden the therapeutic scope of meridian-tendons therapy.Material and method:According to the diagnostic and inclusion criteria established in this study,50 patients with intractable hiccup after stroke were included. All cases were randomly divided into 2 groups using a random number table method, with 25 people in each group. On the basis of stroke treatment, the two groups were treated with acupuncture at Along Tendons Ashi acupoint acupuncture or intramuscular injection of chlorpromazine hydrochloride for 7 consecutive days.Scores of refractory hiccups were scored 4 times before treatment, during treatment(before the 4th treatment),after treatment, and 1 week after treatment. All adverse events occurred during the treatment were recorded. The hiccup effect was evaluated one week later. After treatment and evaluation,SPSS 23.0 software package was used for data statistics and analysis.Results:1.The stroke type, gender composition, and age composition of the two groups were compared statistically, and the differences were not statistically significant(P> 0.05),comparable baseline data.2.After treatment, the hiccup symptom scores of the two groups of patients were significantly reduced(P <0.05),that is,acupuncture and Along Tendons Ashi acupoint therapy and chlorpromazine hydrochloride therapy were effective for intractable hiccup after stroke.3.The hiccup symptom score of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group after the end of treatment and 1 week after the end of treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).4.After the treatment, the cure rate of the treatment group was 64%,higher than 40% of the control group, the difference was not significant(P> 0.05);the total effective rate of the treatment group was 96%,higher than 68% of the control group, the difference was significant(P <0.01);The therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was significant(P <0.05).5.One week after the end of treatment, the cure rate of the treatment group was 68% higher than 40% of the control group, and the total effective rate of the treatment group was 96%higher than 72% of the control group. The differences between the groups were statistically significant(P <0.05)The therapeutic effect of the treatment group is better than that of the control group, and the difference is significant(P <0.05).6.The incidence of adverse events in the treatment group was 12%,and the incidence of adverse events in the control group was 24%.The treatment group was significantly lower than the control group.Conclusion:1.Acupuncture through the Along Tendons Ashi acupoint is superior to chlorpromazine hydrochloride in treating short-term and long-term intractable hiccups after stroke.2.Acupuncture at Along Tendons Ashi acupoint therapy has a better anti-reverse effect than chlorpromazine hydrochloride therapy in treating intractable hiccups after stroke.3.Acupuncture at the Along Tendons Ashi acupoint is a non-toxic side effect of acupoint therapy. The adverse events occurred are far less than those treated with chlorpromazine hydrochloride.
