Comparative Analysis Of Public Libraries Research And University Libraries Research From 2009 To 2018 In China

From the place to collect books to digital library,mobile library and smart library,library has been in the development of civilization playing an important role.In the wake of developments in science and technology,people's living standard is constantly improving and library is strengthening self-building and providing a broader,more efficient service.Public library and university library are the two types of library.Public library serves for the common scientific research,playing an important role in protecting cultural heritage,transforming innovative knowledge and strengthening the social education.While the university library shoulders the historical mission of developing talents,playing an important role in improving students' quality,creating the educational atmosphere and accelerating the pace of knowledge innovation.Domestic research on public libraries and university libraries is also becoming more diverse and in-depth.However,through previous research,there are still few comparative studies on public libraries research and university libraries research,most of which start from a single subject or a single perspective.Public libraries research and university libraries research have their own development emphases,but both belong to the key areas of libraries research.We should not separate them from each other and study them in opposition.Instead,we should analyze and discuss them in the light of their development.In this paper,with the data from 18 core journals in the field of library and information science about public library and university library from 2009 to 2018,the author uses SATI,SPSS,Ucinet,Citespace and Excel to map out the statistical charts,analyzes similarities and differences in the quantity of the papers,the institution,the author and the research contents of the public libraries research and university libraries research over recent decade,then discusses reasons of the differences,sums up the problems and put forward related suggestions.The paper mainly includes the following parts:Firstly,through the literature research method,this paper summarizes the research on public libraries and university libraries of this decade in China,and finds out the problems,clarifies the thoughts and establishes the research framework of the whole paper.Secondly,according to clear charts made from relevant data,this paper makes a bibliometric analysis of the subject literature in public libraries and university libraries from the perspectives of publication quantity,institution,author,key words and cited literature with high citation frequency,and the analysis of key words is divided into frequency,theme path,clustering,etc.This part of the paper concludes the characteristics of public libraries research and university libraries research,and lays a foundation for the comparative analysis of public libraries research and university libraries research.Thirdly,through the results of bibliometric analysis,from the research trend,the institution,the author and research content,this paper dissects the similarities and differences between public libraries research and university libraries research,and the research content part is divided into the reading promotion,resource service,reader service and self-building to elaborate.Further analysis is made to find out the reason for the differences.Finally,based on the above results,this paper analyzes the existing problems in the research,the differences between Chinese and foreign library research and puts forward suggestions for the follow-up research,mainly including attaching importance to the public libraries research,strengthening the author cooperation,implementing the innovative reading promotion research,and strengthening the research on the application of technology,etc.,and then summarizes and forecasts the whole paper.Based on relevant data,this paper dissects and compares the current situation of public libraries research and university libraries research.Some reasonable suggestions are put forward for future research and development,and this paper can provide a reference for the follow-up research of library science.
