Research On Improving The Social Service Capacity Of Local University Library

Modern society is an information society.With the rapid development of knowledge economy,public libraries are increasingly difficult to meet the increasing demand of the people for knowledge and culture.Local university libraries have unique advantages in collection resources,service teams,infrastructure construction and so on.It has become an inevitable choice for university libraries to improve their social service ability on the basis of meeting the teaching and scientific research services of the university.How to improve the social service ability of local university libraries and make them better contribute to regional economic construction and social development should arouse the attention of University librarians.This research adopts the method of combining literature research with empirical research,and collects the relevant literature materials at home and abroad extensively.Taking the library of Lianyungang Normal College as an example,the questionnaire is designed mainly from from five dim ensions:social service consciousness,social service content,social service rules,social service system and social service propaganda measures.Based on questionnaires and field interviews,this paper makes an in-depth analysis and finds out that local university libraries are faced with a series of problems in the process of improving their social service ability,such as lack of active social service consciousness,too single social service content,irregular social service system,and inadequate social service publicity.In order to enhance the social service ability of local university libraries and give full play to their positive role in regional economic and cultural construction,this study summarizes the successful experiences of several university libraries with good social service development.Combining with the results of relevant empirical research,this paper puts forward two suggestions:First,to improve the relevant laws P olicy,capital,system,personnel and other aspects of the security mechanism;Second,adopt a diversified approach to the social services.local university libraries and adopting diversified social service channels.
