Study On The Evaluation Of Information Service Capability Of University Library

With the rapid development of computer technology and internet technology, libraryinformation service has entered network and digital phase from pure paper service.Information service is the core of library service, and the information service ability oflibrary is the important influencing factor limiting library development. For the libraries incolleges, the information service ability of library also directly influences their scienceresearch ability and teaching ability. The paper studies and explores the feasible strategy ofinformation service ability evaluation of college libraries with information service ability ofcollege library as an entry point.Part I: collect and read as much domestic and foreign literature as possible. Wedetermines the research scope and emphasis of the paper after finding information serviceability evaluation of college libraries is currently in the development phase and most contentof it needs to be supplemented and developed. Part II: make detailed definitions toinformation service of college libraries and information service ability of college librariesand detailedly explain the ability structure of information service ability of college librariesand the factors influencing information service ability of college libraries. Part III:summarize the primary indexes of information service ability evaluation of college librariesfrom the aspects of information resources acquisitioning ability, information resourcesorganizing ability, information resources sharing ability and information service andimprovement ability, then query the professors, library managers and users about theperception towards the importance degree of different primary indexes through questionnaire,and use gray statistics theory to select key indexes assessment out, at last establish theassessment mode of information service ability of college libraries. Part IV: get the essentialdata from the questionnaire of users in three colleges in our province, then conduct dataanalysis by taking advantage of the established information service ability assessment modeof college library. Measure and assess the current information service level of collegesthrough demonstration.The paper establishes a highly operable information service assessment mode throughthe analysis and demonstration of information resources acquisitioning ability, informationresources organizing ability, information resources sharing ability and information serviceand improvement ability based on the practical situation of information service abilitydevelopment of college libraries, then uses the mode to assess and analyze case collegehoping to contribute to the assessment work of Chinese future information service ability of college libraries.
