| China has stepped into aging society since 1999,and the aging of population has increased dramatically since 2010.It is estimated that the number of the population aged 60 or over in China will reach 480 million by 2050 which is two times the current population.China will become one of the countries with the highest level of aging in the world,and the elderly will gradually become one of the more and more important groups in social public service.As a part of the public cultural service system,public libraries are very popular among elderly readers,and Public Cultural Service Security Law and Public Library Law propose that public libraries should provide the equipment and service according to the characteristics of the elderly.Therefore,we should take the elderly's needs into account and provide better service,which is not only the need for society's development but also the need for public library construction.Shanghai Xuhui District is one of the first demonstration areas of public cultural service system in China,so it has a certain demonstration and representativeness.Studying on the service supply of the public library for elderly readers in Xuhui District not only solves the practical problems but also has reference significance.This paper takes Shanghai Xuhui District as an example.Firstly,the paper determines the types of service needs of the aged readers and the corresponding supply strategies by using KANO model on the basis of sorting out the content of service needs of the aged readers in Shanghai.Then it analyzes the current service supply for the aged readers in Xuhui District Library.Finally,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the service supply level for the aged readers in public libraries combined with the experience of public libraries at home and abroad to eventually improve the aged readers' satisfaction.This paper can be divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part that introduces the research background,research significance,research status at home and abroad,research content and research methods.The second chapter is the theory part that introduces related theories.The third chapter uses literature survey and interview to sort out 36 service needs of the aged readers in Shanghai and uses KANO model and better-worse coefficient to determine the types of service needs: 2 must-be needs,11 one-dimensional needs,9 attractive needs and 14 indifferent needs.The fourth chapter shows the current service supply content for the aged readers in Xuhui District Library,and makes a further analysis according to the types of service needs and the corresponding supply strategies which are determined in the third chapter.In the fifth chapter,this paper introduces the service supply for the aged readers in Wenzhou Library of Zhejiang Province and Brooklyn Library of New York City.In the sixth chapter,considering the existing insufficiency of the service supply for the aged readers,combining with the experience at home and abroad and taking into account Public Library Law and Public Cultural Service Security Law,this paper puts forward some suggestions to improve the service supply level for the aged readers.The seventh chapter is the conclusion and outlook.After studying,taking Shanghai Xuhui District as an example,there are some problems in the service supply for the aged readers that 1 imperfect supply of must-be needs,4 imperfect supplies and 1 missing supply of one-dimensional needs,and 2 imperfect supplies and 5 missing supplies of attractive needs.Based on these existing problems,this paper gives some suggestions to improve the service supply level.This research focuses on the types of service needs of the aged readers which can be a scientific evidence to offer the service more effectively,broadens the application area of KANO model,makes contribution to the study on the service supply issue for the aged readers and helps the study on the service supply for other groups of readers in public libraries. |
