Research On The Media Role Of Constructive Journalism

The post-truth era leads to the urgent need to ease and reshape the tension between journalism and the public.The era of mass communication is evolving into the era of public communication,and the news production mode and media role in the era of public communication will be different from the era of mass communication.In the era of public communication,the media needs to redefine its role and reshape its relationship with the public,In this context,constructive journalism emerges as the tide of development.Facing the advent of the era of public communication,how should the media and professional journalists participate in the action to promote the solution of social problems? How should news reports relate to social governance? What role does the media play in constructive news,and how does the media position its new role so as to give play to the value of constructive news?Based on this,this paper takes a total of 285 reports of British positive news from January to December 2019 as the research object to explore the reporting philosophy,issue structure and reporting style of positive news,and to study the role of media in constructive news.Through research,it is found that in constructive news,the media mainly ACTS as positive emotion guider,practical problem solver and social development promoter,and its role positioning is consistent with its reporting philosophy and characteristics.As a guide to positive emotions,it usually focuses on creating positive images,telling happy stories and rendering happy emotions.As a practical problem solver,he usually pays attention to the topic around him and proposes solutions to the related issues,so as to alleviate conflicts in various senses.As a promoter of social development,it focuses on social issues,conducts rational critical analysis from a professional perspective,guides the public to reach consensus in this process,and promotes the transformation of consensus into common actions to promote the solution and development of social problems.This paper is mainly divided into four parts,the first part is the introduction,the main content is the research background,research questions,research significance and literature review.The second part is the elaboration of the concept of constructive news,the main content of which is the historical source,connotation,characteristics and value embodiment of constructive news.The third part takes positive news in the UK as an example to analyze three roles of media in constructive news: positive emotion guide,current problem solver and social development promoter.The fourth part reveals the development trend of constructive news practice in the future.
