Ideas And Principles:Exploring The Path Of Constructive Journalism Localization Practice

The advent of the 5G era has prompted a rapidly changing media environment,deepening the competition and challenges posed by the Internet to the news media.The sudden outbreak of Newcastle Pneumonia has led to an information epidemic,with a lot of negative and anxious emotions flooding the public opinion space and negatively affecting the public's psychological health.The mainstream media used a lot of positive coverage in order to guide public opinion towards a positive trend,but neglected the impact of news coverage on public psychology,and exposed the bias of journalistic practice guided by the concept of mainly positive propaganda.In addition,some news media platforms in the self-published media have gradually developed a tendency to report on negative sentiments,along with the pursuit of attention economy and traffic-oriented interests.It is urgent for the mainstream media to optimise their reporting framework to enhance their own credibility while guiding public opinion towards the good.Constructive journalism,which originated in the West,has entered the research arena in an attempt to provide the mainstream media in China with a new concept,or even a new approach,to reporting.In this paper,we clarify and debate the concept of "constructive journalism",sort out its theory and practice,synthesize the main ideas of constructive journalism as a basis,and use the core tenets of constructive journalism to find its source in China.Constructive journalism is naturally linked to the Marxist concept of journalism,which is based on positive propaganda and the supervision of public opinion,and when properly understood,it can become the theoretical basis for the localization of constructive journalism.In terms of practical research,two domestic pilot projects of constructive journalism,the "Exposure Channel" program of the "Constructive Journalism Research Centre" in Suzhou and the "Constructive Journalism Workshop",are used as case studies.Through the analysis of the content of the reporting framework,the elements of constructive journalism embodied in them are identified,and their value to the innovation of mainstream media reporting in China is explored.Finally,it proposes possible ways and reflections on the localization of constructive journalism.
