The Practice Of Constructive News Concept In Reporting Public Health Emergencies In China

In recent years,the emergence of "Constructive News" with the characteristics of "active" and "participation" has aroused the keen attention of academic circles.Every outbreak of public health emergencies is a big challenge for the media's collaborative ability in emergency reporting and the professional level of participating in social co-construction.Taking China Youth Daily`s reports about the novel coronavirus pneumonia as an example,this study summarizes 695 Constructive News reports in 8months after the outbreak of SARS and COVID-19,and summarizes the reappearance characteristics of Constructive News on public health emergencies.In addition,this study explores the Constructive News reporting skills of SARS and COVID-19,such as constructing empathic community,condensing value orientation and maintaining constant context.This paper summarizes the three-level framework strategies of macro issues,meso structure and micro expression.Then discusses the similarities and differences of constructive thinking in the two reports.The results show that from the SARS period to the COVID-19 period,the domestic public health emergencies report has relatively stable constructive thoughts,and its framework of constructive topics mainly includes four types: expert interpretation,policy advocacy,feature,and folk voice communication.The changes of framing strategies in the two constructive reports are listed as follow: the macro topic framework focuses on factual topics to carry constructive information,and the image of a great power and confidence in the war on foreign issues are significantly enhanced.The middle structural framework focuses on oral reflection and result influence,and opinion interaction is more effective;elite writing and citizen writing have different emphases,and the narrative structure is more stable.In the micro expression framework,the constructive title is more rigorous,and the temperament of central media is more dignified;the discourse changes from emotional catharsis to emotional touch,and the constructive content is more ingenious.At the end of the study,through interviews with some journalists who participated in the COVID-19 report,this paper tries to understand,from the perspective of communicator,the worries of journalists about the possibility of concealing news facts,bluntness of journalists' writing style,and strengthening of "scale" consciousness,etc.and discusses the influence of constructive thinking on the report framework and the influence of Constructive News on social development in order to provide reference for the localization research and practice of Constructive News.
