Research On Constructive News Narrative In The Early Stage Of COVID-19

With the development of the Internet,today's communication pattern is changing rapidly.The advent of the post-truth era makes the mass communication era evolve to the public communication era,which requires a new news paradigm to adapt to the new media environment.As a result,constructive news,which takes solving problems as the core and actively participates in social governance,emerges as the times require.In 2020,COVID-19 brought great calamities to China's society and even the world.In this fight against the epidemic,the Constructive News reports of the domestic media undoubtedly bring light and hope to the public,the society,the country and the world.The media have made unremitting efforts in transmitting information,supervising and warning,providing solutions and arousing positive emotions.Based on this,this paper intercepts the typical Constructive News reports of domestic media,including party media,market media and self media,from the early January 19,2020 to April 8th period of January 19,2020,and analyzes the narrative characteristics of typical news reports by combining constructive journalism concept and narrative theory,so as to explore the following problems: 1.What will adopt Constructive News reporting? 2.What are the narrative characteristics of Constructive News reports? 3.What are the deficiencies in the practice of Constructive News reporting? 4.How to improve the deficiency of Constructive News report in practice?This article mainly through six parts to elaborate.The first part is the introduction of this paper,which mainly discusses the research background and significance,the research design,the relevant literature review and the interpretation of the key concepts.The second part is an overview of the early constructive news coverage of COVID-19,which involves the connotation and characteristics of Constructive News,the general situation of COVID-19's early Constructive News reports,and summarizes the narrative features of COVID-19's early Constructive News reports.The third part discusses in detail the narrative discourse features of COVID-19's early Constructive News from two aspects: word and sentence patterns: words and phrases,standardization of words,and use of positive words;sentence patterns,declarative sentences,descriptions of content,questions and answers,and subject predicate sentences.The fourth part is from the perspective of narrative story to explore its characteristics:narrative order,using order to enhance the sense of reality,flashback highlights the focus,pre-narrative focuses on the future;narrative rhythm mainly discusses the control of time interval,simple overview provides detailed content,scene narrative creates a sense of presence;theme construction as a whole is constructive,mainly involving three categories,knowledge and information popularization,positive psychological construction design and solve specific problems.The fifth part is about the narrative behavior characteristics of COVID-19's early Constructive News: the pluralism of narrative subjects,the two categories of journalists and citizens as the narrative subjects,the diverse perspectives of narration,the pure objective perspective,the compound perspective and the individual perspective narration;and the narrative mode mainly adopts the question answering narrative mode.The sixth part is to summarize the reflection and enlightenment of COVID-19's early Constructive News Narrative.Through the analysis,it is found that the Constructive News reports of the media refer to six kinds of constructive narrative frameworks,namely,problem-solving framework,citizen participation framework,news function framework,positive emotion framework,reporter intervention framework and future oriented framework,thus presenting the characteristics of constructive narrative.At present,the practice of Constructive News reporting in China is less,and the early news reporting of the epidemic provides us with a large number of research samples.This paper analyzes the samples,hoping to find out the general rules of the Chinese Paradigm of Constructive News reporting,so as to provide reference for the future Constructive News reporting.
