With the continuous development of computer technology,especially internet and internet of things,make those high-tech products which migrated software and hardware technology involved in everywhere of our lives.At the same time,the size of the software is growing bigger and bigger.The relationship has become stronger between systems and products.In the case of formal method and program correctness proofs also cannot become a practical method of software testing is still quite a long time quality assurance of software products.The reliability of delivered software,to a large extent,depends on the performance of software testers.An accurate performance appraisal of software testers is thus very important for their recruitment,monitoring and development,and for testing team performance management.China in the late start to the study and practice of software testing,software testing has been not given sufficient attention in many companies.However,review of relevant literature reveals little information of how software testers are appraised in practice.Many companies use the same performance appraisal process for all employees.Therefore,these performance appraisals cannot give employees some good motivation.Software testing is a professional job,the skills and development way all are different for software tester according to different work model or testing products.So,there are always difficulties on how to measure work items,how to define key performance indicator,how to define job grade when make performance management for software tester.To study performance appraisal system of W company system for research background.Analyzed performance appraisal system of W company base on KPI and MBO as theory reference,and also refer to development model of research department of W company.Firstly,explain the basic theories of performance appraisal and then describes W's overall information,organization architecture of research department and assigned information of resources briefly.Summarized overall information on job characteristics and property of software tester.Evaluates the current performance appraisal system through questionnaire survey and provides the proposal on how to improve the performance appraisal system.Finish to optimize the current performance appraisal system through setting sub target,divide the whole target,define key performance indicator,grade the job title etc.,finally provides the proposal on how to comes out an action plan.
