With the two major trends of mobile Internet and content video,audiences are increasingly demanding the convenience and richness of content reception.The news content is also the same.Internet news has gradually developed from the original graphic form to the current online video form.Among them,short video news is particularly prominent with its "short,flat,and fast" characteristics.The use of short videos in the field of news not only enriches the content and form of the report,but also distributes and disseminates it through WeChat,Weibo,and major Internet platforms.Influence and discourse space;therefore,short video news has increasingly become an important direction for content layout of major domestic and foreign mainstream news media.At the same time,the term “vertical screen” has been more mentioned and valued in academia and industry;compared to horizontal screen,vertical screen omits the complicated steps of placing the phone horizontally to accommodate horizontal screen playback,which is more in line with users.The mobile habit has become an important trend in the development of short video.However,at present,domestic research on short video news in the information field has mostly focused on its communication strategies,content production,and business management.The attention paid to the "vertical screen" form limitation has yet to be improved.This article takes the "Beijing News" "our video" as an example,selects the horizontal and vertical videos published by its Weibo and performs a partial sampling,and then conducts a comparative analysis;in addition,it conducts a content analysis of the sample vertical screen short videos to summarize the vertical screen news information Content and other characteristics of short videos.In the fifth chapter,this article puts forward the current problems of content production,technology,and platform of vertical short news news videos,and finally provides ideas for problem solving and the future development strategy of vertical short news videos.It is providing reference and reference for the production and development of vertical screen news short videos.
