A Study On The Library Of National Central University

The former library of National Central University is the collection building of Sanjiang normal school founded in 1902.It was officially renamed as the library of National Central University in 1928.It was taken over by new China in 1949.After more than 40 years of wind and rain,it witnessed the emergence,development,expansion,migration and recovery of modern Chinese library cause.In this process,the library of National Central University constantly introduces the advanced western library science theory,innovates the library management mode,explores the new book classification,and keeps the library in the forefront of the development of University Library in the Republic of China.This paper is divided into five parts:In the first part,the author summarizes the library of the National Central University from two aspects: the origin and the development of the library of the National Central University.The second part is the collection characteristics of the library of the National Central University,mainly from the collection structure,collection types,collection sources and other aspects,specifically divided into five sections: the combination of Chinese and Western collections,the development of Chinese and Western collections in a balanced direction;diversified collection sources,greatly enriching the collection;collection of various self-made publications,conducive to the dissemination of academic ideas;The collection of various periodicals and magazines is helpful for teachers and students to have insight into the world;it has rich and good ancient books and inherits precious cultural relics.The third part is the document organization technology of National Central University Library.The library introduced Dewey Decimal Classification,and at the same time reformed Dewey Decimal Classification to create its own book classification.In the aspect of collection catalogue,the Western card catalogue method is introduced to catalogue books and periodicals,which greatly facilitates readers' access.The fourth part is the management characteristics of the library of National Central University: through the analysis of the internal Committee,the functions of each department and the layout of the library,it shows that the library has a scientific and reasonable organization system.Through the description of various rules and regulations,this paper reveals the characteristics of scientific management and service first in the library of National Central University.Through the analysis of the composition of librarians,it is found that most librarians are high-quality professionals,such as Hong Youfeng,Dai Zhiqian,GUI Zibai,Zhu Jiazhi and so on,who promote the development of modern library cause.The last part is the conclusion.This paper summarizes the general situation of the library of the National Central University,and points out the role of the library of the National Central University in the development of other modern university libraries.Its scientific and reasonable management,people-oriented open concept and noble librarian spirit also provide valuable experience for the construction of contemporary university library.
