A Study Of Yenching University Library Bulletin (1931-1939)

Yenching University Library Bulletin was published by the library of Yenching University. There were 130 journals published in 9 years from November 15 in 1931 to the autumn of 1939. The publication was affected by the library science journals prevailing trend in the times, and funded by Harvard-Yenching Library and Harvard-Yenching Institute, as well as confined by the open and free atmosphere in the university. It was conforming to the development needs of Yenching University library, and promoted the development of the library. It was not just a journal of Church University, but also a library science journal of special historic significance.Yenching University Library Bulletin was an important platform of academic communication for Yenching University Library. It was an important medium for the library to promote it's affairs and one of touchstones of library development in our country during the period of the Republic of China, as well as the important condition for the development of Yenching University Library. In the same time, it was an effective way to promote its collection.The study has important implications for the development of library in compus as well as Library Science.
