With the arrival of the era of social media and the popularity of mobile phones and other mobile terminals,the media communication pattern has also undergone earth-shaking changes.On the one hand,the traditional mainstream media has been impacted and changed,on the other hand,the use of social media is becoming more and more common in people's daily life.As a part of the development of modern society,the media occupies an important position in people's daily life.for the mainstream media,the degree of media trust not only reflects the audience's evaluation of the media.it also represents the audience's trust in political authority and media's political identity to a certain extent.In the context of new media,social media is widely used,the audience access to information is no longer single,the status of mainstream media is also affected to a certain extent.On this basis,we study whether the trust of the mainstream media will be affected,and what are the factors that affect the trust of the media.This study investigates and analyzes the influencing factors of media trust.Taking 307 audience samples in Xiangyang City,Hubei Province as the research object,a questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the group characteristics,social media use status and media dependence of urban residents in prefecture-level cities.and its basic situation and main content are analyzed.The results show that the audience's evaluation of media trust is mainly affected by media dependence,social media use motivation and social media use.the more the audience tends to obtain positive news,the higher the evaluation of media trust.For most audiences,based on human instinct to seek advantages and avoid disadvantages,they are more inclined to obtain more positive information from positive news to meet their own needs.According to the previous research results and combined with the actual situation of this study,this study constructs a relevant prediction model,which is composed of demographic variables,social media use variables and media dependence variables.At the same time,this study further uses the SPSS21.0 multiple linear regression model to make an empirical analysis on the factors that affect the evaluation of media trust.The media content preference of the audience is positively correlated with the degree of media trust,and the degree of media dependence of the audience has a significant impact on the evaluation of media trust.In addition,this study also found that demographic variables have no significant impact on audience evaluation of media trust.
