The paper focused on the relationship between mass media and audience, along with its developing track in the environment of multiple media, abundant diffusing and transmit methods and multi-dimensional media effect, proposed’skepticism’as focus and theme of their relationship. Based on media skepticism, there are the problems of information fact; credit between media and audience; atmosphere of mass media ecology.The topic belonged to the field of media culture, and’skepticism’was taken as key word of attitudes and behaviors of media, audience and society in this field. The paper studied and carded the developing process and context of media skepticism, doubt media and doubt society in the dynamical change of relationship between media and audience. It also analyzed three kinds of main parts of media skepticism, which are information source, route and audience, and it discussed the reason and influence of these kinds of media skepticism. In the end, the paper forecast the trend and method of repair and reconstruction of media trust.In the study context, the paper fanned out from point to area and studied the theory; concept; main parts; reason; values; harms of media skepticism to reveal the problem of trust in the future mass media and mass communication and also to initiate focus on the media responsibility and its measurement in the information era.There were eight chapters. The first chapter contained the goal and meaning of this topic, and stated the basic theory; research method; innovation point. The second chapter made a definition of concept. It set out from derivation of the word’media’ and’skepticism’, and confirmed three research fields, which are doubt media; media skepticism; doubt society. The third chapter carded the relationship change between media and audience, from media fear and respect, to media worship, to media skepticism. This chapter tracked all the developing routes. The fourth chapter studied main parts of media skepticism, from information source; information channel and audience, and analyzed around the interactive mode of information source and communication mode; relationship of information channel, information source, information and audience; skeptical relation of information, media and society. The fifth chapter analyzed the reason of media skepticism. Based on the macroscopic environment at home and abroad, this chapter studied reason of the skepticism lead respectively by mass media and audience. The sixth chapter took skepticism as a kind of attitude and strength, and practice as a kind of capital to demonstrate the value of media skepticism. The seventh chapter studied the some kinds of abnormal phenomenon, such as trust crisis, media bias, media horror and media anti-intellectualism. The eighth chapter took cases which had happened on the platform of social media as examples, and proposed social media operated as self-orgazions and made opinion flexible and offered a good sample for media and audience to repair and reconstruct their trust relationship.
